The man with the golden arm is the iconic piece of cinema film title that helped bring Saul Bass to the forefront and also by helping changing the way that cinema sequences are. Saul Bass is an iconic graphic designer that has big connections to the hollywood movie directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Martin Scorsesse.
The man with the golden arm video clip is considered to be a controversial movie credits opening and now that I have looked in to the film more, I can clearly see why! The film is about a heroine addict so it was quite brave of Bass to use straight foreword white lines on a black back ground show casing heroine. In my opinion it was quite brave of him to have such an opening and its not surprising to me how this one make him more famous!
This is a short film on Saul Bass’s Life.
Saul Bass is one of the most iconic Graphic Designers of this century. The use of the designs being mainly 2d, he also changed the way typography was and paved the way for the 60s and 70s graphic designers to come up and start taking more prominence. his designs still to this day influence a legion of fans every where.
